HFRR Reference Fluids

The HFRR system should be verified at regular intervals by running two types of reference fluids as specified in the relevant test method. These ASTM reference fluids can be purchased from PCS Instruments.

These reference fluids consist of the ASTM High Lubricity Reference fluid A, and ASTM Low Lubricity Reference fluid B. Reference fluid ‘A’ has good lubricity characteristics and produces a smaller wear scar compared to reference fluid ‘B’ that has poor lubricity characteristics and produces a large wear scar.

We supply this reference fluid in a 0.5 litre bottle.

• ASTM High Lubricity Reference fluid A – 0.5 li.

• ASTM Low Lubricity Reference fluid B – 0.5 li.
